Thank you NOWT supporters

Thanks so much for coming out to NOWT@NITE #2 last night. It looks like we and DSMC need to purchase more chairs; there was barely even standing room! I think everybody came for the whole night which means a lot to us. We put a lot of thought into the programming of these series and will continue to do so please please continue to support the event. Because of your support we are able to give the bands some money! Who would have thought?

Coming up in the future:
We are going to start podcasting the shows. They will be streamable from www.nowtrecords.org and iTunes; will keep you posted.

Also if you are an artist and are interested in presenting a project at one of the series: email us your music booking[at]nowtrecords.com. We do listen to every submission. If you have questions about how the series is run... there will soon be a NOWT@NITE faq page.

thanks again

Their debut CD, "White Rocket," comes out Feb 10 on Diatribe Recordings, a label dedicated to documenting the burgeoning jazz & creative music scene in Dublin, Ireland.

To celebrate this, White Rocket is doing a tour, starting in Chicago, heading down to Athens to visit Nowt artist Dan Nettles, then heading back up to NYC...

This whole project began as a commissioned work by the Golden Isles Arts and Humanities Association down in Brunswick GA, and is one of three albums that are ready to be recorded (Fahrenheit and Marlena being the other). I spent about 2 months writing the music, originally scoring it for the 6 peice ensemble that appears on our 2005 release "Projector". The debut was in February 2007. Time passed... I slowly earned enough money to begin documenting this music, and I decided to make the recording as special as possible and incorporate many of my friends near and far.

Working on such a tight budget made me really want to make the music as big as possible... we get so few chances, and i feel like when we go for it, we have to make it special somehow.
